These wonderful buttons are called "Liverpool" transfers only because they resemble the type work done in Liverpool at the time, but are not necessarily created there. This example is set in a chatoyant pearl base and qualifies as a pearl button with porcelain OME (other material Embellishment) in the NBS classification.
