Rarely offered original color woodblock print on paper by Japanese Modern Master printmaker and wood cutter Un'ichi Hiratsuka. Rakanji in the Rain (Yubakei) depicts the original temple that stood on the mountainside of Mt. Rakan before its destruction by fire in 1943. Red seal on lower left. Pencil signature and date on lower right: Un-ichi Hiratsuka 1935. Title in Japanese characters on lower left side. Exhibited in 2000 at Tokyo Station, catalogue #41. Noted by Keiko Hiratsuka Moore on 09/13/2001: This print was the last print. My father probably made less than 10 of this. Housed in a museum mat. Artwork dimensions: 12"L x 14.75"H. Mat size: 18"L x 22"H.
