Hokusai (Japanese, 1760-1849) Woodblock Print, Yokkaichi
A beautiful hand painted color, and ink on paper woodblock horizontal print. Edo Period, features two traveling women by horse, waiting while the owner of the horse finish tying his shoe. Original print can be found in the early 1800s series, Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido Road, by the ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai. Title series on the top right. Title print on the top right. Publisher seals on the lower left.
