Black Forest Carved Linden Wood Three Piece Clock Garniture
A Good Quality German Black Forest Carved Linden Wood Assembled Three Piece Clock Garniture, Late 19th Century. Comprising a mantel clock and pair of vases. The mantel clock centered with a large stag atop a carved rock formation with two hunting dogs below amongst flowers, plants and branches.
Having enamel chapters with Roman numerals, the twin movement with outside countwheel striking on a bell, the backplate stamped 'LEUENBERGER / INTERLAKEN' with Vincent & Cie pastille, movement and pendulum numbered '1381'.
The pair of vases each having removable glass, the bases decorated with turkeys and chicks. (3)
Dimensions: Height of mantel clock 24in; width 20in; depth 9 1/4in; Height of vases 26 1/2in and 27 1/4in.
Provenance: Property from a Bucks County, Pennsylvania Collection Curated by Bennett and Judie Weinstock, Philadelphia.
Condition:
Typical marks, wear, nicks, surface scratches and small chip losses throughout. There are several glued breaks and repairs to carved elements throughout. Shrinkage and age cracks. The left dog's tail is broken off, but retained. We cannot guarantee the completeness or functionality of the clock's movement.
