An American Empire Cherry Double-Sided Music Stand, Second Quarter 19th Century
The fret carved rotating lyre form sheet music holder, having a candlestick arm to either side, raised on an adjustable tripod base with turned central support ending in scroll feet.
Dimensions: Height 47 1/2in; width 16 1/4in; depth 17 1/2in.
Provenance: From a Philadelphia Estate.
Condition:
Structurally sound. In overall good functional condition. Retaining its original darkened and dry surface. Minor repairs and restorations to some carved ears and elements, shrinkage and age cracks throughout. The candlestick arms likely are lacking some elements.
