AN ENTIRE UNPUBLISHED MANUSCRIPT VOLUME OF TORAH NOVELLAE BY RABBI EFRAYIM FISHEL ZUSSMAN SOFER, ROSH BEIS DIN OF BUDAPEST IN HIS OWN HANDWRITING. Ohel Sarah – an unpublished manuscript volume of novellae by Rosh Beis Din of Budapest Rabbi Efrayim Fishel Zussman-Sofer, on the Torah. The manuscript was written in his youth, at the age of 17-20, when studying under his distinguished relative, Rabbi Eliezer Zussman-Sofer of Halas, with one later piece while studying in Pressburg under the Shevet Sofer. Additonal notes and novellae on Gemara and Nach, including one drasha for a Bris Milah in honour of his brother-in-law R. Tzvi Schlesinger. A rare manuscript volume written by a Torah scholar while still in his youth. Name of manuscript ‘Ohel Sarah’ on binding in the author’s handwriting. Title page and author’s signature on page 68b. Rabbi Mordechai Efrayim Fishel Zussman-Sofer (1867-1942), son of Rabbi Binyamin Ze’ev Wolf of Budapest, and son-in-law of Rabbi Yaakov Koppel Reich of Budapest. Disciple of Rabbi Eliezer Zussman-Sofer of Halas and Paks and of the Shevet Sofer. Rabbi of Kastalan (1891), Tshuz (1893) and from 1914 Dayan and later Rosh Beis Din of Budapest. Author of Ateres Paz and Eleh Masei. 132 written pages of 162. 17 x 21 cm. Good condition. Back cover missing.
