C. MOORE A 4-BORE, BLACK POWDER, SINGLE-BARRELLED ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, Ser No 5321; A rare single-barrelled rotary-underlever hammergun by C. Moore. Converted from muzzle loading to centrefire in Birmingham in approx. 1868. The action of Damascus steel being of three stages, from 5 flats, half round at the breech through 9 flats, half round to round at the fore-end. Top flat engraved 'C. MOORE. LONDON'. Jones’ patent 2040 of 1859 Rotary Underlever, the action and lockplate retaining much colour hardening, Rebounding back-action lock after Stanton. The stock with chequered straight hand grip and steel butt plate. The barrel of Damascus steel, marked on the underside ‘JA’ after Joseph Asbury.
