A decorative plate from the Ohio published Peerless Atlas of the World showing various views of oriental architecture in or around Peking, now Beijing, China. Illustrations include temple scenes, dragons and pagodas. The aerial view of Peking, with its roofs and defensive walls and riverside scenery takes pride of place, framed by a stereotypical Chinese man smoking a pipe with a coolie hat and a woman with a fan. 330 by 250 mm (13 x 10 inches)
