A CHINESE PAINTED POTTERY CAMEL, PROBABLY NORTHERN WEI DYNASTY (AD 386-534). Modelled in grey pottery in a kneeling pose, on a rectangular base. 18.5cm long. Provenance: Property of a Lancashire family.
Remnants of red pigment to camel. Crack across camel's rear left hoof, very minor surface wear and deposits, aged to simulate Northern Wei Dynasty pottery of this type.
