A CHINESE PAINTED POTTERY FIGURE OF AN ATTENDANT, TANG DYNASTY (AD 618-907). Modelled standing with his hands clasped to his chest, this robes pierced and hollow, with domed hat and features picked out in red and black. 31.8 cm high. Provenance: Property of a Lancashire family.
Some remnants of original paint to face, hat and robes, faint surface cracking visible across torso and up one side of body. Typical surface deposits overall which may possibly conceal repairs, although these are not obvious under UV light. Typical flaking and deterioration for age and type.
