THREE CHINESE PAINTED POTTERY FIGURES OF ATTENDANTS, TANG DYNASTY (AD 618-907). Modelled standing wearing long flowing red striped robes, with hair and face picked out in black and white, with arms clasped to the waist. Approx. 28.5cm high. Provenance: Property of a Lancashire family.
Remnants of striped red and white paint visible to robe, black to hair and white to face. Surface deposits and faint cracking visible around neck although no obvious restoration is visible under UV light. Typical flaking and deterioration commensurate with age and type.
