A LARGE CHINESE NEOLITHIC PAINTED POTTERY JAR, MACHANG (C. 2300 - 2000 BC). Fairly heavily potted in a yellowish-brown pottery darkening in patches around the upper section with two sturdy looped handles at the waist and short neck and slightly everted rim. Decorated to the upper section with black and red pigment leaving two bands of squares in lines above zig zag with splashes to each section. 35cm tall.
Good overall condition as expected with no obvious signs of repair. Checked under UV light.
