AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY JAPANESE SUMIDA POTTERY VASE. The tapering body enriched to the upper part with a mottled dark brown, blue and white glaze, the lower part incised with bands and enriched in matt red applied with groups of glazed monkeys at various pursuits. 31cm high
Two thirds of the upper rim is cracked, restored and overpainted, there is a restuck rim chip which is 2cm wide with a small chip beside this to upper rim. Otherwise there is some minor wear.
