A CHINESE GILT AND RED LACQUERED BRONZE FIGURE OF GUANYIN, 17TH CENTURY. Seated on a lotus base wearing long jewellery and robe with crown holding a bottle in the lap. Chinese characters illegible to the rear of the base. Covered in red lacquer with traces of gilt. Ming dynasty (1368-1644). 24cm tall. 1708 grams.
Wear and loss to areas of the red lacquer and gilt surface. Holes in the bronze around rear right shoulder and lotus base.
