TWO LARGE CHINESE CORAL-GROUND EMBROIDERED SILK COVERINGS, QING DYNASTY. Embroidered in blue, cream and gilt thread with butterflies, insects and loose flower sprays, approx. 150cm x 150cm and 151cm x 103cm (2)
Example approx. 150cm x 150cm with butterflies in gilt thread - with some staining, small areas which are threadbare, some fading to coral ground, some loose threads. The second with some extensive tearing and wear to coral ground, areas that are threadbare, with old cotton backing, loose threads, some staining and fading.
