TWO CHINESE RED LACQUER STORAGE CONTAINERS AND A FOOTED GLOBULAR JARDINIERE, 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY. The containers or covers of cylindrical form, with outer ring, decorated in gilding with a band of figures carrying utensil and inscribed in calligraphic script, 24.5cm high, the footed bowl decorated with a band of flowers and linear ornament, 21cm high. (3)
The containers are hollow without bases or covers, one has more noticeable wear, some losses to red lacquer and decoration, the middle ring is loose. The other has some wear to lacquer and decoration, some losses and damages at rims. The footed jardiniere or bowl, with some minor flaking and retouching to red lacquer, some losses and cracking to surface.
