A FINE CHINESE HARDWOOD BRUSH POT, BITONG, DEPICTING XIYUAN YAJI, SIGNED TIAN ZHANG. Very finely carved in relief depicting the Elegant Gathering in the Western Garden, with various figures with attendants engaging in leisurely activities in a landscape scene with pavilion. Applied with a dark hardwood mouth rim and base carved with three low feet. Signed Tian Zhang. with seal mark. 17cm tall x 18cm wide.
