Batz" in lead below the image, very good condition, framed behind glass, image dimensions approx. 21.7 x 18 cm, sheet dimensions approx. 53 x 40 cm. Artist info: German painter, graphic artist and photographer. Painter, graphic artist and photographer (1905 Velbert - 1986 Wuppertal), 1925-27 attended the Elberfeld School of Crafts and Arts and Crafts, travelled extensively, 1928 produced his first artistic photographs in the style of New Objectivity, from 1929 studied at the Bauhaus in Dessau under Josef Albers, Joost Schmidt, Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee, from 1931 studied at the Düsseldorf Academy of Art, where he was a master student of Paul Klee, Friendship with Jankel Adler, 1932 participation in the exhibition "Das junge Rheinland" in Düsseldorf, 1935 trip to Switzerland and Italy, from 1947 member of the "Donnerstag-Gesellschaft" in Alfter near Bonn, 1954-62 occupation with informal painting, 1959 participation in documenta II in Kassel, numerous study trips at home and abroad, source: Wikipedia.
