zwei nackte, in der Sonne liegende Frau und im Vordergrund älterer Herr mit Jackett und Hut, Aquarell über spontan ausgeführtem Bleistiftstrich, unsigniert, Blattmaße ca. 14 x 10 cm und zwei sich umarmende Frauen, Kaltnadelradierung, Mitte 20. Jh., unter der Darstellung in Blei signiert "Max Schwimmer" sowie unleserliche Widmung, Darstellungsgröße ca. 9 x 8,5 cm, Blattmaße ca. 26 x 18,5 cm, jeweils etwas gebräunt, Provenienz Sammlung Prof. Wolfram Körner/Berlin, beigegeben Exlibris für Prof. Wolfram Körner von Horst Hille. Künstlerinfo: dt. Maler, Graphiker und Illustrator (1895 Leipzig bis 1960 Leipzig), künstlerisch weitestgehend Autodidakt, zunächst Studium am Lehrerseminar Leipzig-Connewitz und zeitweise im Schuldienst im erzgebirgischen Obersaida und Marienberg sowie in Lützschena bei Leipzig tätig, Soldat im 1. Weltkrieg, 1920-23 Studium der Kunstgeschichte und Philosophie an der Universität Leipzig, erste künstlerische Arbeiten entstehen, 1923-24 Lehrer in Eythra bei Leipzig, Mitarbeit an den Satirezeitschriften "Die Aktion" und "Der Drache", 1924-25 Studienreise durch Italien (unter anderem Sommerkurs bei Hans Purrmann auf Ischia) und Frankreich, anschließend kurzzeitig in Berlin, ab 1926 Lehrtätigkeit an der Kunstgewerbeschule Leipzig, parallel Pressezeichner und Kritiker der "Leipziger Volkszeitung", Mitglied im Bund Deutscher Gebrauchsgraphiker, 1933 aus dem Schuldienst entlassen, als "entartet" diffamiert und zeitweise mit Arbeits- und Ausstellungsverbot belegt, anschließend Hinwendung zur Buchillustration, 1939 kurzzeitige Einberufung zum Sanitätsdienst, ab September 1944 zum Kriegsdienst als Wache des Kriegsgefangenenlagers "Stalag IVB" in Mühlberg einberufen, 1945 Direktor der Kunstgewerbeschule Leipzig, 1946-50 Professor für Graphik der Staatlichen Akademie für Graphische Künste und Buchgewerbe Leipzig, 1951-60 Professor an der Hochschule der Bildenden Künste (HBK) Dresden, Mitglied des Verbandes Bildender Künstler (VBK) der DDR, ab 1952 Mitglied der Akademie der Künste Berlin, Quelle: Thieme-Becker, Vollmer, Dressler, Eisold "Künstler in der DDR" und Internet.

Artist information: German painter, graphic artist and illustrator (1895 Leipzig to 1960 Leipzig), largely self-taught artistically, initially studied at the Leipzig-Connewitz teacher training seminar and worked temporarily as a teacher in Obersaida and Marienberg in the Erzgebirge and in Lützschena near Leipzig, soldier in the 1st World War, 1920-23 studied art history.
