Russian Lacquer art: Papier-mâché box, hand painted and signed by Alexander Smirnov (of Kholui). 11cm width x 4.5cm height x 8cm depth. - The well-known Kholui artist Alexander Smirnov is the artist who painted the humorous scene on this box. It shows a wife who urges her husband to go home. She is very angry because she has caught her husband playing the accordion and flirting with pretty village girls.
