Polemic in Yiddish: A Shtimeh fun Jener Welt—a protest booklet agains the American Council on Judaism and its relationship to Zionism.

A reference to sheketz at the beginning, this is a protest booklet in Yiddish against the reform American Council on Judaism and its relationship to Zionism. Edited with black humor by Moshe Yitzhak Kook. Philadelphia 1947.

Background: “The American Council on Judaism” was a leading Reform Jewish organization in the USA. It led the opposition to Zionist organizations and conducted a consistent propaganda over the years against the Zionist enterprise, against immigration to Israel and against the actions of the Haganah and the Irgun to replace the British government. After WWII the organization published an open call entitled “Peace to my Beloved”, calling on governments not to allow immigration to Israel! This action caused great unrest among American Jews and Holocaust survivors, an action whose revelation we find in this booklet. The author opens his book with comical thanks from Holocaust martyrs and survivors, addressed to the Reform organization (regarding the letter “Peace to my Beloved” the author writes that they deserve a slap—not peck—on the cheek). Later on, the author edits a kind of message sent from heaven addressed to the organization by the forefathers of the Jewish people and the prophets. The pamphlet ends with a number of articles, including the article "VeLaMalshinim".

Rare: Not seen before at auction. 23 pages, includes the original jacket. A few creases, good condition.
