Ba'al HaTanya... and accompanied with Ma'amar HaHitbonent [part of Sha'ar HaYichud] by his son the famed great Gaon Dov Berish [the Mitteler Admor]. Edited by Yosef ben Asher Anschil Reitzis Segal. First edition, Lemberg, 1851. Stefansky Chassidut 611. [1], 44 leaves. 2 leaves differ in size and color. Moth perforations. Some moth damage. Stains. Taping to the title page and the last leaf. Minor blemishes to text in several places. Old, worn binding. Good overall condition.

On the title page, a handwritten signature "הק' יעקב נכד הגאון מליסא...". On the flyleaf, a signature of one of his grandsons: "שייך להרב ר' אבנר לארברבוים שליט"א צפת".

Rabbi Yaakov Lorberbaum (ca. 1834-1888) known as Rabbi Yaakov Hakatan, the son of Rabbi Mordechai Yehuda Aryeh Leib, the son of Rabbeinu Yaakov of Lisa, the Chavat Daa't and the Netovot. Was born in Kalisch and immigrated to the Holy land with his father in ca. 1840, settling in Safed. Was said to resemble his grandfather after which he was named. See: Ma'orei Galicia III 440.
