Circular plate in gilded silver from Casa Leitão & Irmão, 19th century, depicting in bas-relief a scene from Canto V of the Lusíadas by Luís de Camões. In a table frame made of rosewood in the shape of a Christ cross. With the Lisbon hallmark (Javali I), of 916 thousandths, in use from 1887 to 1937, and the silversmith mark of Casa Leitão & Irmão indicating the year, 1898, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Discovery of the Maritime Route to India. Worn, with cracks and small flaws.
Approx. diameter of plate: 17 cm; Approx. dimensions of frame: 26.5 x 26.5 cm.
Assiette circulaire en argent doré de Casa Leitão & Irmão, 19ème siècle, représentant en bas-relief une scène du Chant V des Lusíadas de Luís de Camões. Dans un cadre en bois de rose en forme de croix chrétienne. Avec le poinçon de Lisbonne (Javali I), de 916 millièmes, en usage de 1887 à 1937, et le poinçon de l'orfèvre de Casa Leitão & Irmão indiquant l'année, 1898, à l'occasion du 500ème anniversaire de la Découverte de la Route Maritime vers l'Inde.
