Rabbi Yehuda Meir Shapiro (1887 – 1933) was a prominent Gaon, founder, and head of the renowned Yeshivat Chachmei Lublin. He served as rabbi in several cities, including the important city of Piotrków, and eventually in the large city of Lublin, where he established his yeshiva. He was one of the leading figures of the generation before the war, building a stronghold of Torah learning through his famous yeshiva and numerous initiatives. Among his students were Rabbi Shmuel Wosner, author of *Shevet HaLevi*, and others. His works include Ohr HaMeir, Imrei Da'at, and more.
