The Holy Kiddush kos of the Worker of Wonders, the Holy Rebbe of Ribnitz, zy”a The Holy Rebbe Rabbi Chaim Zanvl Abramowitz of Ribnitz Presented here is a Kos Shel Brachah , the holy Gavia (Kiddush cup) of our master, the holy Rebbe Rabbi Chaim Zanvl of Ribnitz, zy”a . He used this cup for the Kiddush of Tzafra D’Shabbata (the Sabbath morning meal) for many years, following his holy custom to recite Kiddush over Yayin Sarof (brandy/schnapps). The holy Rebbe Rabbi Chaim Zanvl Abramowitz, known to all as the crown of glory, the ”Ribnitzer Rav , ” was born in the city of Botosani, Romania. Orphaned of his father and mother in his childhood, he was raised in the holy home of the holy Rebbe Rabbi Avraham Matisyahu of Shtefanesht, zy”a , who raised him and cherished him as an only son. He established his residence in the city of Ribnitz, where he conducted himself in ways of holiness and asceticism from his youth. He would immerse himself in frozen rivers and risked his life under the watchful eye of the Communist authorities to engage in the Mitzvos of Milah and Shechitah according to the law of Moses and Israel. During the dark days of the Nazi occupation, he was miraculously saved, and at that time, his name became renowned throughout the land as a worker of wonders; countless stories testify to the power of his holiness and his miracles. The Ribnitzer Rebbe eventually left Russia, settling first in Eretz Yisrael and later in the United States. All those who entered his inner sanctum to seek a blessing or advice testified that Ruach HaKodesh (Divine Inspiration) rested upon him. He passed away to the Heavenly Abode in the city of Monsey, where he is buried in great honor, and every day, thousands of Jews flock to prostrate themselves at his gravesite.
