Rabbi Yitzchak Ze’ev Soloweitchik (1887-1959), son and disciple of Rabbi Chaim of Brisk and grandson of the Netziv of Volozhin and of the Beis Halevy. Rabbi of Brisk (from 1918), escaped to Eretz Yisrael in 1941 and established the Brisk Yeshiva in Yerushalayim. The Rabbi of Brisk was famous for his wide and deep Torah knowledge and his great stringency in halacha. Author of Chidushei Maran Riz HaLevy.
