Rabbi Zundel of Salant (1786-1865) was the disciple of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin, and teacher of Rabbi Yisrael of Salant. He was father and the founder of the Mussar movement. At the end of his life he settled in Jerusalem and served as a teacher of the Ashkenazi community.
Bais Haknesses Menachem Zion was the first synagogue to be built by the Ashkenazi community of Jerusalem, and in service till today.
Shitah Mekubetzes was authored by Rabbi Bezalel Ashkenazi. It is an anthology of numerous commentaries and novellae on the Talmud.
