Rare: Evel Yachid, Eulogy on Rabbi Yaakov Loberbaum of Lissa, Warsaw 1833, Only edition.
Rabbi Yaakov Loberbaum (1770-1832), was born into a rabbinical family. Orphaned from his father, he studied under R. Yosef Thumim and R. Meshulam Igra. He served as Rav in various communities, most notably Lisa after which he is known. One of the greatest of the Achronim, he was held in awe by the masses as well as by his rabbinical contemporaries. He was particularly close to R. Akiva Eiger and the Chasam Sofer, and together they fought mightily against the nascent Reform movement. He was a prolific author who wrote on a wide variety of Torah subjects and his seforim, including Chavas Da’as, Nesivos Ha’Mishpat, Nachlas Yaakov, Toras Gittin, Bais Yaakov and many others, are learned in depth across the Torah world.
