A pair of Twin-Arm Neoclassical Sconces in Antiqued Gold with Pleated Shades and Foliate - A pair of Twin-Arm Neoclassical Sconces in Antiqued Gold with Pleated Shades and Foliate Ornamentation in the Neoclassical style. The symmetrical twin-arm design issues from a central rosette and is crowned by a stylised acanthus finial, with scrolling leafwork extending upward and downward along the vertical axis. The lower terminal is shaped as a pinecone drop, echoing botanical forms found in late 18th-century English and French decorative arts. Each arm curves outward in a gentle scroll and supports a floral bobeche, from which rises a candle-style socket fitted with a cream pleated fabric shade. The backplate is framed with rope-like detailing and floral accents, reinforcing the applique's Adam-style lineage and its affinity with Louis XVI ornamentation 74cm high (Loc 632)
