Armchair ”Sully” (Louis XIV Style) - Armchair ”Sully” (Louis XIV Style), Ateliers Allot Carved and lacquered oak frame with upholstered seat; France Louis XIV style armchair known as the ”Sully” model, constructed in solid oak and finished in antique cream lacquer with gilded accents. The high backrest and sweeping S curve armrests terminate in scrolled volutes carved with acanthus motifs. The chair stands on four robust baluster form legs with gadrooned sections, linked by an X shaped stretcher composed of scrolling volutes. Upholstered using traditional methods with steel springs and horsehair stuffing, covered in a dark tapestry style botanical fabric and outlined with brass nailhead trim. Contemporary production by Ateliers Allot, a French manufacturer established in 1812 and holder of the EPV label, integrating cabinetmaking, woodcarving, gilding, upholstery, and associated trades.
