Collection of Nine Decorative Vases (Chinese Japanese Inspirations) Porcelain - Collection of Nine Decorative Vases (Chinese Japanese Inspirations) Porcelain, stoneware, and mixed glaze ceramics; Asia / 20th–21st century Collection of nine decorative vases comprising a range of forms, materials, and surface treatments influenced by traditional Chinese and Japanese ceramic styles. The group includes two monumental blue and white porcelain vases: one decorated with a cobalt dragon motif and fitted with sculptural dark handles, and another tall, slender example with geometric medallions, scrolling vine patterns, and moulded blue handles. A famille rose style vase features a polychrome figural panel within floral borders, while a smaller baluster vase is decorated with a delicate multicoloured floral spray. A miniature footed bud vase combines a ribbed crimson base with a pale yellow flared neck and small handles. Four additional vessels employ textured or mixed glaze finishes: two large jars with metallic copper bronze glaze on the shoulders and matte grey stone like bodies; a medium ribbed vase with deep red glaze; and a glazed stoneware pot with mottled grey brown surface and rustic patina. Together, the group presents a varied survey of decorative ceramic techniques across scale, form, and finish. [LOC 848]
