Wethington, Wilma (1918-2014) "Peter, Jamaica" watercolor
Wilma Wethington (1918-2014) "Peter-Jamaica" watercolor, signed lower left, good condition, image size: 8 x 7.75 inches. Wilma Zella Wethington was born in 1918. She attended Marshall Univ. in Huntington, WV, studied at the Davenport Art Museum, in Taos, NM, and at Wichita State Univ. During World War II she worked as a draftsman and illustrator at Boeing Aircraft Co in Wichita and then worked as a commercial artist at McCormick Armstrong Printing Co. Began teaching art lessons in 1950. In 1964 she established the Wetherington Studio and Gallery in Wichita. She also taught at the Wichita Art Assoc. Married Otis Hadley in 1987.Member: American Watercolor Society; Kansas Watercolor Society; Wichita Art Assoc.
