A shallow circular decorative wall plate crafted from lathe-turned and polished wood with a rich golden-brown grain, likely an Australian native timber. The centre of the plate features a detailed engraved and inked portrait study of an elderly Aboriginal Australian man, depicted with a headband and long beard. A monogram NH is visible to the lower right of the portrait. The reverse of the dish is impressed with circular inscriptions.
