A low-seated ceremonial chair constructed from tropical hardwood, featuring an ornate openwork backrest. The backrest is carved in high relief with a central motif of confronted birds amongst scrolling floral and foliate patterns. The backrest panel is framed by square-section uprights surmounted by red-painted turned globular finials. It is supported by four short cabriole legs with carved scrolling details at the knees and feet. A/F.
