Bidspirit auction | An assortment of British militaria

An assortment of British militaria items consisting of uniform buttons and small insignia. The collection includes large gilt brass Royal Navy officer buttons featuring the King's Crown over a fouled anchor, with several bearing the maker's mark Gaunt London and a stamp for the Patent Premier Shank on the reverse. Large black composition buttons for naval ratings are present, also featuring a fouled anchor motif. The set further includes small brass Merchant Navy buttons decorated with a central five-pointed star within a rope-twist border. Included in the lot is a small white metal badge for the Gloucestershire Regiment depicting a sphinx on a plinth with a scroll embossed Egypt below. Additional items consist of a large gilt fouled anchor button, an oval patinated bronze-toned fouled anchor badge, and a circular dark-toned badge featuring a bird in flight.
