14k Grand Tour Micromosaic Brooch of the Colosseum - A micromosaic brooch from the Grand Tour, c. 1820, depicting the colosseum. The mosaic finely rendered in minute tesserae and depicts a detailed scene of the colosseum and the surrounding landscape. In a 14k yellow gold and C clasp closure. The mosaic set into a frame of goldstone. Unmarked, tested 14k. Length: 50.38 mm x 37.53 mm. Gross weight: 18.0 grams. Condition: The mosaic and goldstone have been damaged and repaired, there is loss of tesserae and some areas of fill.
