Early 19th C. Silver & Rubies Deccani Court Huqqa Base, Indian/Mughal, Islamic. - This rare early 19th-century Deccani huqqa base is a fine example of the luxurious metalwork produced in the royal workshops of the Deccan, India. Crafted from a globular metal body, it is richly embellished with finely chased silver sheet inlay forming elegant floral and foliate designs across the surface. The decoration is further enhanced by numerous bezel-set rubies arranged as stylized blossoms, reflecting the refined aesthetic associated with the courts of the Deccan Sultanates and the Mughal period.
