A complete copy of Sefer Aliyos Eliyahu, a comprehensive biography of R. Eliyahu of Vilna - The Vilna Gaon. Rare first edition, published by R. Yehoshua Heschel Levin of Volozhin (grandson of R. Chaim of Volozhin through marriage). Printed with the encouragement and approbation of many prominent Torah leaders of Lithuania and Russia, such as R. David Luria of Bichow (RaDal), R. Avraham Simcha of Mstislav (nephew of R. Chaim of Volozhin), and R. Shmuel Strashun of Vilna (RaShash). The Radal also provided additional material and information for this work, even compiling a list of the various works of the Gaon. Many stories and insights into the life of the Gaon were first published here; until today this work stands as the most accurate and reliable bibliography of the Gaon.
