A Signed Autographed Note by R. Yitzchak Ze’ev Soloveitchik - The Brisker Rav, Jerusalem 1958.
A handwritten note - written by R. Yosef Dov (Berel) Soloveitchik, and signed by his father R. Yitzchak Ze’ev Soloveitchik - The Brisker Rav, Jerusalem 1958. In it, he declares the status of R. Efraim Zelaznik (a prominent student of Yeshivas Brisk) as “Torasso Umnaso” (i.e. studying the Torah is his permanent “line of work”), thereby declaring him exempt from the Israel Defense Force draft, which exempts those occupied with full-time with Torah study from the draft. The “Torasso Umnaso” status is used for various other applications as well, such as receiving heavily discounted tax rates and the like.
In good condition, written on ruled paper, with no official stationery. With the autograph of the Brisker Rav and the official stamp of Yeshivas Brisk.
