A Pair of Vintage Painted Wooden Indian Clubs - A pair of vintage Indian clubs, also known as exercise clubs or meels, crafted from turned wood. Traditionally utilised for gymnastic exercise and physical conditioning, each club features a characteristic tapered body that narrows to a slender neck and terminates in a rounded pommel handle. The clubs are decorated with hand-painted horizontal bands in red and green. A large stencilled black numeral 5 is centrally located on the barrel of each club, designating a weight of five pounds. The handle sections are further detailed with several thin incised concentric rings. No manufacturer's marks or stamps are visible on the items. Height: approximately 21 inches.
