Bidspirit auction | An Assortment of Cased Silver-Plated

An Assortment of Cased Silver-Plated and Stainless Steel Flatware and Serving Sets - An assortment of cased flatware sets comprising serving pieces and dessert cutlery. The collection features a fish service for six, consisting of six fish knives, six fish forks, and a pair of large fish servers including a serving knife and fork. The blades and tines are decorated with engraved foliate patterns and are constructed from silver-plated metal (EPNS), each fitted with smooth cream-coloured handles of celluloid or bone-imitation. This set is housed in a wooden presentation case with a blue velvet and white satin-lined interior. Also included is a cased set of twelve spoons with ornate handles featuring cast foliate and scrollwork decoration. The metal shows significant surface tarnishing and is presented in a brown case with a dark brown velvet base. A third set comprises several teaspoons and a pair of sugar tongs in a Fiddle or Old English pattern, displaying heavy tarnish and housed in a black case with a red velvet interior. The collection is supplemented by a set of six stainless steel teaspoons by Zwilling J.A. Henckels in the Bela pattern, retained in their original card mount and packaging. Finally, the group includes a cased set of six teaspoons and a matching serving spoon with cream-coloured handles, housed in a brown textured presentation case with a cream satin lining. Marks are present on several pieces but are not clearly legible to confirm specific makers, though EPNS marks are observed on the fish service. Fish service case: 33 cm (13 inches) wide.
