A Studio Anne Carlton William Shakespeare Desk Set - A desk set produced by SAC Ltd, Studio Anne Carlton, Hull, England, consisting of a magnifying glass and a matching letter opener. The items feature decorative handles manufactured from a cream-coloured moulded resin designed to simulate carved ivory with dark patina highlights. The handles are modelled in the likeness of William Shakespeare and include a reproduction of the playwright's signature. The magnifying glass is fitted with a 3 1/2 inch optically correct glass lens housed in a gold-plated frame. The letter opener features a pointed, gold-plated blade. The set is housed in its original black paper-covered presentation box with a white satin-lined interior and a gold foil logo depicting a seated figure on the inside lid. A parchment-style descriptive certificate is included. Box measures approximately 27 cm in length.
