Two Turned Wooden Gavels and a Matching Sound Block - This lot comprises two turned wooden gavels and a matching circular sound block. The set includes a gavel turned from a two-tone wood featuring distinct grain contrast between the heartwood and sapwood, characteristic of yew or laburnum. The second gavel and the stepped circular sound block are finished in a uniform dark mahogany stain on a hardwood base. Both gavels are constructed with traditional ring-turned handles and cylindrical striking heads. The set appears to be of mid-20th-century British manufacture.
