F. Barbedienne, 'Diana of Versailles', Bust - A nineteenth-century Style neoclassical bust of Diana (Artemis) after the antique 'Diana of Versailles' model. The goddess is depicted with her head turned to her left, hair swept back into a bun secured with a crescent-shaped diadem, and wearing a draped chiton. The bust is cast in metal with a dark brown toned patina and is mounted upon an integral circular pedestal base. This is a reproduction The rim of the circular base is incised with the foundry mark F. BARBEDIENNE. FONDEUR and the side of the pedestal features a circular reduction seal marked REDUCTION MECANIQUE A. COLLAS BREVETE. Height: 25.4 cm Width: 20.3 cm.
