A Pair of George V Sterling Silver Bladed Butter Knives by Harrison Brothers and Howson Sheffield 1916 - A cased pair of sterling silver bladed butter knives manufactured by Harrison Brothers and Howson. The blades feature bright-cut engraved decoration depicting foliate and fern motifs. Each blade is struck with a full set of Sheffield hallmarks including the maker mark HW, the lion passant for sterling silver, the crown assay office mark, and the lowercase gothic date letter y for 1916. The ferrules are similarly hallmarked with the crown, lion passant, and date letter. The knives are fitted with smooth cream-coloured composite handles. The set is housed in its original fitted presentation case with a black pebble-grain textured exterior and a purple silk and velvet interior lining. Case length: 25.5 cm Knife length: 20 cm.
