R. Donaldson Silver Equestrian Sculpture, London 2000 - A Silver sculpture depicting a jockey and horse in mid-air, clearing a steeplechase fence. The piece is rendered with realistic detail, capturing the dynamic movement of the jump with the horse's forelegs tucked and the jockey leaning forward in the saddle. The fence is modelled with a textured brushwood finish atop a timber-effect frame. The entire group is mounted on a rectangular base textured to resemble grass. The rear of the base is signed in the cast R DONALDSON. The side edge of the base is struck with a series of marks including the maker's mark CS in a shield, a 925 fineness mark, a leopard's head, the date letter a, and a rectangular box containing the word FILLED. The underside is finished with green felt. Length: 23.5 cm Height: 18 cm.
