Brass and Leather Field Glasses with Fitted Case - A pair of Victorian style brass and leather field glasses featuring a textured black leather grip over a brass body. The instrument comprises two extending brass tubes, polished to a high shine, and a central knurled focus wheel mounted on a brass pillar. The flared eyepieces are finished in brass, bearing a circular arrangement of engraved characters that are not legible. The objective lenses are housed in brass collars with a reeded edge detail. The glasses are accompanied by their original fitted leather carrying case, which is finished in dark brown with a matching top handle and a brass flip-latch closure. The interior of the case is lined with a vibrant red silk or satin fabric, with moulded recesses in the lid to accommodate the eyepieces.
