GENE WRIGHT, "JIM BEAM CABLE CAR"
Framed photo by listed photographer Gene Wright from San Francisco titled, "Jim Beam Cable Car". In 1949, Mr. Wright moved to San Francisco, worked for a while as a photographer for the Southern Pacific Railroad, and then scraped together enough money to open his own studio in the 1400 block of Grant Avenue, near Green Street. He built up his business shooting images of San Francisco. At first he had no idea whether they would sell, but people going by his shop would see the photographs and many started buying them. This photograph measures in the frame 5'' H x 11'' W.
