Italian (Linstock) Lance Polearm, 17th - 18th C.
Europe, Italy 17th - 18th century linstock lance or spear head polearm with a double edged spear, pierced central line with three connecting points, and openwork S shaped windows to either side. The base of the spiked head is carved with foliage patterns and twin upturned snake head quillon characteristic to linstock.
Lintstock refers to a staff weapon with a fork like end which would have pair of quillon that essentially allow the polearm to be used from a distance to ignite cannon or artillery. Size 91" L, spear head 16 1/2" L, 8 1/2" L
