USN Officers sword & Scabbard M-1852, Signed Wolf Brown
United States Navy Model 1852 Officer's sword, circa Vietnam War, with gilt brass hilt and scabbard fittings. The sword features a very clean high condition straight double-edged etched blade. Wire wrapped faux-ray skin grip. The gilt brass guard has openwork USN and a dolphin as the quillon. Pommel cap with U.S. Eagle and stars. The upper and middle suspension bands are decorated with roped knot motif. A dolphin decorates the edges of the drag. Overall: 34 1/4" L, blade: 27 1/2" L . A high quality German-made sword marked "STAINLESS" and with etched Star of Damascus proof mark, and with Purveyor's Name: Wolf-Brown over logo, over GERMANY.
Condition: scabbard is slightly dented and does not allow blade to fully enter
